About

My name is Erik. I am one of F'nwrestling's new writers and very excited about the future of our podcasts, predictions league, and breaking big news from the various wrestling promotions around the globe.

Since I was a kid, back in the mid 90s, I have been a wrestling fan and it has stuck with me through most of my life. My favorite promotion was WCW; many hated it, but for me, it was more than just a show. It was huddling up to the television with my two brothers and watching our favorite wrestlers brawl it out - it was family time and nostalgia. I can't think about WCW without thinking about my brothers and family.

Fast forward to 2021 and I'm a bigger wrestling fan now than ever. I currently follow AEW, Impact, NJPW and occasionally ROH. I follow local indie wrestling promotions such as Imperial Wrestling Entertainment out of Houghton Lake, MI and have a friend who works as a talent within the promotion (John Campbell "The Creature Feature" - check him out on Facebook or Instagram).

Let's rewind to a year ago pre-covid, and I was playing music with a band named "Laddermatch" to which all of our shows began with the Texas Rattlesnake, aka Stone Cold Steve Austin's, entrance music. We had plans to film a music video that was wrestling themed. Eventually we ended up splitting due to personal reasons and me and the drummer helped revive a band called "No Skull" that we currently still play for.

It wasn't long before that we found out that my wife was pregnant with our son, who before he was born was diagnosed with a rare condition called abdominal atresia, which simply means he was born with little to no small intestines and wasn't expected to ever live a normal life. When he was born, he was taken from us immediately after birth, and within 24 hours, was in surgery. We would eventually get the news that his surgery was a success, but still weren't sure if he would live a normal life. We would spend the next 6 grueling weeks in the NICU during COVID waiting to see if my son would be able to eat, digest, and absorb nutrients. During that time, it was wrestling that kept my mind occupied while my son recovered. You could almost say wrestling saved me from one of the darkest, saddest times of my life.

In summary, I am a huge fan of wrestling and am super excited to help be a part of a growing community of people who share the same passion and love for it as I do. I want to leave this bio with a quote from one of my favorite wrestlers of all time:

"Hard work pays off, dreams come true. Bad times don’t last, but BAD GUYS do.” – Scott Hall
