Farewell AJ Styles: Gets Emotional Send-Off in Tokyo, Joined by Nakamura, Punk, and Ivar

TOKYO, JAPAN — Wrestling fans at Ryogoku Kokugikan in Tokyo were treated to a rare and deeply emotional moment on Thursday night as veteran star AJ Styles was given an overwhelming post-show ovation, capped by a surprising group send-off involving Shinsuke Nakamura, CM Punk, and Ivar.

Following the night’s main events at the WWE SuperShow Japan, Styles returned to the ring to address the live audience. Recognizing the deep connection Styles has with the Japanese wrestling scene, long-time friend and rival Shinsuke Nakamura stepped in to translate the emotional address into Japanese, allowing “The Phenomenal One” to share his heartfelt appreciation directly with the crowd.

The segment culminated in a stunning show of unity and respect. As the applause peaked, CM Punk and Ivar of The Viking Raiders joined Styles in the ring, hoisting the veteran wrestler onto their shoulders and carrying him around the arena. The Ryogoku Kokugikan crowd responded with a massive, sustained ovation, showering the four competitors with appreciation.

The tribute was officially recognized on the venue’s large screen, which displayed a simple, powerful message of gratitude: “Thank you.” The emotional scene marks a poignant moment for Styles, especially as the star has recently discussed his plans to retire in 2026. This Tokyo send-off will undoubtedly become a lasting memory for fans worldwide.
