Brodie King's Unusual Road to Respect: Drinking Pee Earned Darby Allin's Approval

In the world of professional wrestling, earning respect often involves grueling matches, death-defying stunts, or captivating promos. But for Brody King, one of the toughest competitors in All Elite Wrestling (AEW), gaining the admiration of fellow wrestlers Darby Allin and Bandido came through a truly unorthodox, and slightly stomach-churning, act during a road trip.

King recently shared the bizarre anecdote on the "Close Up With Renee Paquette" podcast, detailing a moment that cemented his bond with two of wrestling's most unconventional stars.

"Me and Bandido, we were on an independent show. Sometimes you have to pee in the middle of traffic. So, Darby Allin was sitting in the back of the van... I pee in a bottle, which is very normal for anyone that's been on tour," King recounted, explaining a common, if unglamorous, reality of life on the road for wrestlers.

What started as a practical solution quickly escalated into something far more extreme. King described the reaction of his traveling companions: "[Darby and Bandido] thought it was insane. They thought it was very gross that I was doing this."

Then came the moment that turned disgust into an unlikely form of respect. "So then I hold up the bottle of pee, and they're like, 'Ew!' And then I just took a little drink of the pee," King revealed.

The reaction, according to King, was immediate and exactly what you might expect from the man known for his willingness to push boundaries. "To no shock, Darby, from the back of the van, goes, 'That's my kind of guy.'"

This peculiar incident, while certainly not for the faint of heart, perfectly encapsulates the kind of extreme personalities and dark humor that often thrive in the gritty, unscripted world of independent wrestling. For Darby Allin, a daredevil whose career is built on defying expectations and embracing the macabre, King's audacious act was apparently the ultimate seal of approval.

It's a testament to the unique bonds formed on the road, where shared experiences, no matter how bizarre, can forge lasting camaraderie and respect among those who truly live the wrestling lifestyle.
