Carmella's Heartbreaking Connection to Infant Loss Awareness Month

Updated: Nov 6, 2022

This story deals with miscarriages and pregnancy complications. Please be advised before you continue reading if that is an upsetting subject for you.

October was Infant Loss Awareness Month. It's a time for women and parents to share their experiences with miscarriages or the loss of young children, something that can be extremely traumatic and isolating. WWE superstar Carmella took to social media yesterday to share her story regarding her heartbreaking experiences with pregnancy.

The former Smackdown Women's Champion has been absent from television for about 2 months now. Her latest match was at a house show in Charleston, North Carolina, where she lost in a triple threat match against Asuka and Raw Women's Champion Bianca Belair.

"There Is Nothing Wrong With You And You Are Not Alone"

Carmella shared a black and white image to her Instagram page. It shows her in a hospital bed, hooked up to a heart moniter through a small clamp on her finger. The caption she attached to the picture provides more context to her situation.

I’ve gone back and forth with myself about posting this because I’m not looking for any sort of sympathy, but since today is the last day of Infant Loss Awareness month, I wanted to share my story. Today, I was treated for an ectopic pregnancy. I never thought something like this would happen to me, especially after suffering from an early miscarriage in September. Nothing can prepare you for this news after getting a positive pregnancy test. I was cautiously optimistic this time around after the early loss I had already experienced, but was hoping for the best. I spent 12 hours in the ER on Saturday when I started experiencing some sharp pains on my left side. After several tests and ultrasounds, I was given the devastating news that this was, in fact, an abnormal pregnancy... Again, I’m not looking for sympathy, I know I’ll eventually recover from all of this mentally, physically and emotionally. For anyone dealing with ANY type of pregnancy loss, I want you to know your feelings and emotions are valid, there is NOTHING wrong with you and you are not alone.

We here at F'n Wrestling send our love and well-wishes to Carmella and hope for a peaceful recovery.
