WWE Superstar Big E has been nursing an injured neck, since sustaining a nasty landing on the March 11th episode of Friday Night Smackdown on FOX. Since then, the former WWE NXT champion has kept his fans in the loop, regarding his recovery. Earlier this week, the former WWE Champion provided an update on his rehabilitation, in which he revealed that he fortunately won't be requiring surgery.
During a recent appearance on a WWE Deutschland Instagram Live, Big E's New Day stablemate Kofi Kingston shared another update from the former WWE Intercontinental champion's road to recovery.
"[Big E's] doing really, really good man, all things considered,” his fellow former WWE champion said. “The latest update from his neck, was that his C1 wasn’t ossifying... & that’s producing bone, so they’re going to take some CAT Scans, maybe I think 6 months... & also a year just to see. But other than that, like, he’s been able to come out of the brace. I think he came out of the brace earlier this month & he’s able to travel.”
As you might recall, Big E became the 4th black WWE Champion in the company's history, when he cashed in his Money in the Bank contract & defeated Bobby Lashley on the September 13th episode of Monday Night RAW. He lost the title to Brock Lesnar in a Fatal 4-Way Match @ WWE Day 1 on January 1st. His main event momentum had already been halted, but the neck injury crushed all hopes of an imminent return to the top of the card.
“We’re just all trying to take it a day @ a time & he doesn’t need surgery, which is a great thing," Kofi said in the aforementioned WWE Deutschland interview. "So, he’s doing really, really well. Getting better & better every single day. Getting stronger & stronger, per usual.”
