It is speculated by viewers and commentators that the altercation may have been a staged event designed to generate publicity, as Riddle reportedly appeared to be laughing and placed the host gently on the table. This incident comes at a time when Riddle's post-WWE career has seen him lose the MLW World Heavyweight Championship and face accusations of no-showing a charity event.
