Former Baddest Woman on the Planet Credits The Oracle for Company’s Creative Success

Former UFC Champion and WWE Superstar Ronda Rousey has given immense credit to legendary creative mind and manager Paul Heyman, stating that much of the company's current success is rooted in his vision and mentorship.

In a recent interview, Rousey, who has been openly critical of some aspects of her past time in WWE, singled out Heyman as one of the most positive and crucial influences on the company's creative direction.

Rousey heaps praise onto Heyman.

A kickstarter was launched for Ronda Rousey’s new graphic novel titled ‘Expecting The Unexpected.’ There’s a piece on Rousey in Sports Illustrated’s latest This Week in Wrestling column

In the write-up, Rousey heaped praise onto Paul Heyman. She cited him as one of the few people who encouraged her creatively.

He’s one of the few people who really encouraged me creatively. He showed me I’m so much more than just what my body can do. That’s how so many people see me–as an athlete, as a fighter. It’s all about performing, being on camera, focusing on what I can do physically–but it was different with Paul.
It was Paul Heyman who said, ‘What do you want your movie to be?’ Paul produced my segments during the second half of my first year in WWE, and he really worked with me on being able to write my own promos and deliver them. I’d wrote before, two memoirs, but not creatively–he encouraged me to create outside of myself. Paul was my first mentor as a writer, and he saw that in me.
"So much of what is working in WWE is due to Paul Heyman or Paul Heyman’s guidance."

Rousey's praise comes at a time when Paul Heyman's stature in the business remains as high as ever.

The Bloodline Saga: For years, Heyman was the on-screen "Wiseman" for Roman Reigns, serving as the driving force behind what is widely considered one of the greatest and most compelling storylines of the modern era, The Bloodline.

The Oracle: While that chapter is now closed, Heyman has transitioned into a new role as "The Oracle," currently managing The Vision (Bron Breakker and Bronson Reed) and serving as a crucial, polarizing figure on Monday Night Raw.

Rousey’s comments emphasize Heyman's proven ability to connect with and elevate main-event talent, seeing potential in performers beyond their in-ring ability. His background as the creative head of ECW and a longtime advocate for stars like Brock Lesnar and CM Punk showcases a unique 40-year track record of influence, both on-screen and behind the scenes.

Rousey's recognition highlights that Paul Heyman’s value extends far beyond his promo skills, cementing his legacy as a mentor who continues to shape the future of WWE’s biggest stars.
