The former Paige shocked the wrestling industry when she showed up in All Elite Wrestling on the September 21st episode of Dynamite Grand Slam.
Her appearance was instantly felt as Britt Baker DMD, Jamie Hayter & Serena Deeb retreated from the ring, while the Interim AEW Women’s World Champion Toni Storm and Athena embraced the former WWE Divas Champion. It was confirmed by Tony Khan on social media immediately afterward that Saraya is now All Elite.
When she made her debut, she didn't get physical which led to speculation on if she's cleared to compete or not. Early yesterday, a report from Dave Meltzer of the Wrestling Observer Newsletter stated that she wasn't cleared to compete... but she would like to be. The Inaugural NXT Women's champion hasn't wrestled since 2017 due to her neck injuries.
“We were told that she had not been cleared as of very recently, which would explain not touching anyone, but would like to be cleared,” Meltzer wrote, noting that she is refereeing for her family’s World Association of Wrestling promotion in a few weeks.
Saraya has responded to the report by posting the following on her Twitter...
“Ignore the dirt sheet click bait. See ya Wednesday. #AEWDynamite”
After her explosive debut, Baker also had something to say about it.
