John Cena Did Something Special For AJ Styles. At WWE Crown Jewel, in a moment of pure class and respect John Cena reportedly wrote the special ring introduction for his opponent Styles. Before their match, Cena was seen handing a note to ring announcer Alicia Taylor, who then read a unique and heartfelt introduction for “The Phenomenal One” that referenced his storied career in TNA and his time as the leader of the Bullet Club in NJPW.
The references to TNA and the “Bullet Club” were a nod to two of the most significant chapters of Styles’ pre-WWE career, and the line about it being an “honor as an opponent” was a direct message of respect from Cena himself. This intro had the crowd chanting. This is awesome and holy s#!+ before the match even started.
The match was billed as the final encounter between the two legendary rivals.
Cena and Styles paid tribute to a lot of wrestlers that helped their careers in the WWE names like
- Samoa Joe
- Chris Jericho
- Rusev
- Christopher Daniels
- The Miz
- Bray Wyatt
- Randy Orton
- The Undertaker
- Frankie Kazarian
- Shawn Michaels
- Sting
They also teased a 619 from Cena!
The two men have had a series of classic matches in the past, and this final bout was a fitting and emotional conclusion to their epic rivalry. An in my opinion the JEWEL of Crown Jewel.
