Through Fresh Eyes: What a Young Fan Really Thinks of Today’s WWE

As long-time fans, we often get bogged down in "work rate," backstage politics, and the technicalities of the business. Sometimes, to remember why we fell in love with sports entertainment in the first place, we need to talk to the demographic that sees the magic without the cynical filter the kids.

I recently sat down with a young member of the WWE Universe to get their take on the current product. The answers were a refreshing—and sometimes hilarious—reminder that the "good vs. evil" dynamic is alive and well.

When it comes to the in-ring action, the spectacle of the Ladder Match remains the gold standard for younger viewers. My young interviewee cited the recent clash between Jey Uso and LA Knight as a personal highlight, proving that "YEET" and "Yeah!" are more than just catchphrases—they are the pulse of the new generation.

The perspective on the Women’s Division was equally insightful. While Rhea Ripley is a global powerhouse, this fan is looking for a different kind of hero.

"I like Rhea, but not that much. I think my favorite is Jade Cargill. She gives off 'brave girl energy.'"

It’s clear that Jade’s "superhero" presentation is doing exactly what WWE intended: inspiring a younger audience with a larger-than-life presence.

If you want to know who is doing their job as a heel, just ask a kid. While the "internet wrestling community" praises Gunther for his 5-star classics, our young fan has a much simpler reason to loathe The Ring General.

"I hate Gunther. First of all, he beat John Cena! And also, I hate him because he’s a big jerk."

But the vitriol didn't stop there. In a surprising twist, the power couple of Seth "Freakin" Rollins and Becky Lynch isn't finding much love here. The reason? It’s all about the attitude.

"I don’t like Becky Lynch because she’s dating Seth Rollins—he’s my second least favorite—and she has a bratty attitude."

The "Realness" of it all and most poignant part of our chat came when discussing the upcoming Elimination Chamber. While the excitement is there, the sting of past betrayals still lingers. Our young fan was still reeling from the last outing, specifically mentioning their heartbreak over John Cena "turning bad."

When asked what makes wrestling worth watching every week, the answer was a perfect summary of why the industry thrives:

"I like all the drama. It's so real."

In an era of scripted promos and choreographed spots, it’s heartening to see that the "realness" of the conflict still captures the imagination. To a child, the drama isn't a storyline—it's a high-stakes battle between people they truly care about (or truly can't stand).

What do you think of this young fan's take? Is Jade Cargill the next big thing for the youth? Let us know in the comments!
