MITB, 2022: review

It’s Money in the Bank!! And this years show kicked off with the womens ladder match. It wasn’t the best womens MITB match, not close but people asking for Shotzi to be released over a few botches is insane. Not only was she attempting innovative spots, botches happen in larger matches all the time. I’m super happy with the winner. Liv deserves it and I’m excited for her cash in.

Next was Theory vs Bobby Lashley. This match was Ight. It had its high spots and low spots. There was times of the match I easily zoned out and the winner was a weird choice because if they’re doing the Theory vs Cena match at Summerslam I’d love to see it for the United States Championship. I like both these guys but Lashley isn’t the same without MVP. Lashley with MVP is WWE Championship material in my opinion but without some kind of guy to speak for him, not so much.

Next was Bianca Belair vs Carmella. This match was fine but the KOD looks so much better when her opponent helps her do the move. Bianca is amazing and I think Carmella has found her groove.

Next was the match of the night. The Usos defended there tag team titles against the Street Profits in a match that was more story than moves and I loved it. This match was a great example of having a long entertaining match without taking 40 bumps for no reason. I thought this match was great and it was for sure one of the best WWE tag matches of the year. Ford was pinned with a shoulder up so this sets up a rematch at Summerslam.

Ronda Rousey vs Natalya was next and this was what I expected. I knew the match would be great but the program is just a drag. I flipped out for the Shawn pose in the sharpshooter. Ronda is a much better heel than face but she didn’t turn heel? It was weird, Ronda wins a Great match then is cashed in on by Liv. The cash in was great they teased Liv losing to Rousey and protected Ronda by having Liv roll her up by her injured leg. I was waiting for the Ronda turn on Liv but it didn’t happen.

And finally the mens Money in the bank ladder match. Theory was added to the match right before it started. I wanted Sami Zayn to win but I’m not going to complain about Theory winning. I like him a lot but the way they did it is weird. I don’t think he needed to win it because his U.S title stuff was good except for the Lashley stuff and him beating Lashley would’ve been huge to set up his match with Cena at Summerslam if they choose to do that there. But congrats Theory! I’m excited to see what he does with the briefcase. This match was good, I like the spot where they bury Omos in ladders and throw him through the table. I want Seth Rollins vs Riddle at Summerslam and I deserve it because I’ve been good lately.

This was a good show and I was entertained through out. There wasn’t a bad match on the card but neither of these ladder matches was in the top 3 for me he or womens for me.
