Welcome to my weekly article about the music that were part of our growing up being professional wrestling fanatics. I'm talking about the music. Be it the opening theme to our favorite show, favorite faction or favorite wrestlers entrance music... music is so important to the overall experience.
So this week, I'm revisiting one of my favorite entrance themes of all time. If you know me then you know that I am a huge Bret mark. I was always a mark for the technical wrestlers and Bret was one of the greatest of all time. So it was natural that I picked Bret as my first one.
That opening riff, that chord slide gets me so amped and so pumped because I knew that the best there, best there was and best there ever will be was about to give some guy in the ring a clinical in technical wrestling and it was going to be an amazing match. This theme was so much about him as the broken glass and the dangerous music that accompanied Stone Cold.
While I have seen him on TV so many times I can't even count, when I was at a live show years ago and that opening guitar riff blared over the speakers, I jumped up and down and was pumping my arms, screaming at the top of my lungs. That is the pop I and thousands in attendance had as he emerged from Gorilla and walked down the ring.
Until next week... keep on F'N Rocking
